Dominos was founded in December of 1960 by Tom Monaghan and James Monaghan. The two brothers originally bought a pizza store that went after the name “DomiNick’s” in 1960 that was located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The business was shared between the two after James traded half the business to Tom for a Volkswagen Beetle. In 1965 Tom renamed the restaurant “Domino’s Pizza Inc.”
The location I went to was 11810 N I-35 Suite B Ste B, Jarrell, TX 76537. I went at 5 P.M on a Saturday. Walking into the restaurant, you get hit with the most flavor filled smell that fills up your nostrils. They had an ongoing deal for two pizzas and two sides for only $19.99. I ordered one pepperoni pizza, one extravaganza pizza, regular stuffed cheesy bread with marinara sauce on the side, and the new pepperoni stuffed cheesy bread. I had thought ahead and placed my order online to avoid waiting times, although It looked like there wasn’t a long line either way.
We picked up our food and sat down at an empty table. It was fairly clean, there were some crumbs on the seat but other than that it was pretty tidy. We quickly wiped down the seats and then sat down and opened the pizza boxes. Right off the bat I can see how crispy the pizza looks, and the perfectly placed pepperoni’s all around.
I then grabbed a slice of pizza and took a bite. I could definitely hear the nice crisp on the top as I bit into it. It was a very good ratio of cheese to pepperoni, I especially liked how juicy the pepperoni’s were, and the cheese pull after I took a bite. You can never go wrong with the classic pepperoni pizza. I would rate it a 10/10.
Next up was the extravaganza pizza. I opened the pizza box and saw the mixture of all the ingredients: pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and black olives. I could see that they added way more onions than everything else. Other than that it looked really good and fresh.
As I grabbed a slice and took a bite. I could taste the additional amount of onions but I personally didn’t mind it much. It had a perfectly crispy outer layer with a doughy inside. I loved the great variety of ingredients and how they all complemented each other perfectly. A great pick for those looking for a burst of flavor. I would rate it a 6/10
Now we move on to the sides, first I’m trying the stuffed cheesy bread with marinara sauce on the side. Opening the box, I got hit with a wave of heat, I could definitely tell these were fresh.
I grabbed a piece and had to blow on it a little before taking a bite. I honestly didn’t have much expectations for a cheese pull since it’s just Domino’s. As I bit into it and pulled there was a slight string of cheese which was surprising since it exceeded my expectations. I dipped it into the marinara sauce and it only made it 10x better. I would rate it a 8/10.
Lastly we are trying the new pepperoni stuffed cheesy bread. I’ve been wanting to try it since I keep seeing advertisements of it on tv, because of this it heightened my expectations for it overall. Opening the box, I could see that they looked basically identical from eachother other than the pepperoni’s on the inside.
I grabbed a piece and took a bite. There was a bigger cheese pull and this time with pepperoni’s which added a delicious burst of flavor. I dipped it in the marinara sauce and took another bite, it was way better with it. I would rate it a 10/10.
Overall my experience went extremely well. The place was clean, the workers were friendly, and the food was especially good. I would rate my experience here a 8/10.
