Sweet Paris Creperie was founded in 2012 by Ivan and Allison Chavez in Houston’s renowned Rice Village.
Sweet Paris Creperie is an absolute delight for anyone who loves a cozy atmosphere combined with delicious food. When you step inside, you’re greeted by a charming decor that perfectly captures the essence of a Parisian cafe. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special occasion.
When you order, the menu offers an impressive assortment of crepes, both sweet and savory. I was especially impressed with their savory crepes, such as the Ham and Cheese and Chicken Alfredo, both were filled with flavor and cooked just right. The flat, thin crepes had the perfect amount of filling without being overpowering.
Now onto dessert, the sweet crepes are definitely a must try! The Dulce de Leche crepe was SO good! It has a creamy vanilla custard, salted caramel, and bananas on the inside and the top. Another tasty option is the Nutella and Strawberry crepe, which melted in my mouth and was cooked at the perfect temperature, not to mention that they don’t just offer crepes, they also offer other food like eggs, salads, paninis, and waffles!
The foods that I didn’t like were the Philly Cheesesteak crepe, Salada de Chevre, S’mores crepe, and the Pesto Ham & Gruyere Panini. I didn’t like these because they didn’t taste like the name sounded, especially the S’mores crepe, it was too sweet and the graham crackers inside were stale and hard to chew. I didn’t like the Philly Cheesesteak crepe because the meat wasn’t cooked how I wanted it and I didn’t like how the mushrooms were steamed and not roasted. And the Salada de Chevre was way too vinegary and way too salty. The Pesto Ham & Gruyere Panini had too much pesto and I didn’t like how it tasted.
When I went up to order my food, I was so impressed by the service, they were so friendly and mindful without being intrusive, which made the dining experience so much more enjoyable! Plus, they offer some really good drinks, such as coffees, smoothies, complimentary water, lemonades, teas, and other fountain drinks that pair perfectly with the food.
All in all, Sweet Paris Creperie is a cute little spot that really knows how to whip up both sweet and savory crepes. The flavors are top-notch, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. With a relaxed vibe and friendly service, it’s definitely a place you want to check out if you’re in the mood for some tasty French treats. You won’t regret stopping by!
