Rewarding yourself with a treat is an effective way to motivate yourself. Countless sources suggest that rewards seriously improve productivity. Many articles have repeated this point, and KLMS helps to support it.
When you reward yourself, you often find that your motivation increases. This practice helps you concentrate on tasks and goals that hold deeper significance and meaning for you. Having a snack helps. It’s a greater sense of purpose, making it easier to dedicate your energy to what truly matters, kids are always tired after school and will want a snack more or less but having a snack after school will encourage people.
“I like to eat popcorn after school because it is sentimental to me because my family and I make it in the kitchen whenever we need to because I found out how to make the family popcorn obviously,” KLMS social worker Mrs. Perez said
The staff aren’t the only ones who think snacks can be a fantastic motivation for people. Many students have reported that snacks help them get through the day and provide a reward for when they get home.
“I like to eat fruit while I do the difficult task then I reward myself with an unhealthy snack,” Angela Ngo said “I find it easier to do work when I have food.”
Some people eat their food while they work. It’s proven to benefit productivity and help with motivation.
“I think there are benefits to eating your favorite snack because whenever I eat my favorite snack I get happy,” sevnenth grader Leah Davila said. “My favorite snack is Turbo’s I love it because it’s a sour and spicy snack.”
Davila along with her peer Hanna Lim both enjoy eating their favorite snacks. Lim enjoys eating her favorite snack whenever she wants and doesn’t use it as motivation often.
“No, I just eat my favorite snack whenever,” Lim said “I do think it is good to reward yourself sometimes but not all the time because you don’t to overconsume it and develop a problem.”
Similar to Lim, seventh grader Averee Young also does not reward herself with a snack for a difficult task.
“No, I just eat my favorite snack whenever,” Young said. “I always go to Target to get my Cheez-Its because Target is my favorite store.”
Sxth grader Julian Acosta is similar to Lim in that he also sometimes rewards himself with a snack.
“I only sometimes reward myself with a snack, but when I do I get my work done faster and better,” Acosta said, “I get my Lays chips from the H-E-B close to my house.”
